Why are Pozzi RHeX and RCR different?

Pozzi rotating exchangers consist of two main elements.
First, there is an open stainless steel trough through which the dirty effluent flows by gravity.
Secondly, there is a series of exchanging shells mounted onto a long hollow shaft: this is what we call the rotor.
The clean process water flows inside the rotor assembly, which is suspended inside the trough and rotated by a small electric motor.
This accomplishes two things: on one hand, all mechanical pollutants are kept under suspension thanks to the stirring rotation action; on the other hand, all thermal surfaces remain clean, increasing the thermodynamic efficiency of the exchanger for the boundary layers to be reduced.
